Nervous About Your First Tan? That’s Why I’m Here.
I’ve done thousands of first spray tans. I know exactly what you’re worried about. Here’s the real talk: your first tan is the most important one. It sets the standard for everything after. I take that seriously.
Your first tan sets the standard for every result after it. That is why I take it seriously.
Local Love
Don't just take my word for it. Here is what Bossier City and Shreveport clients are saying.
"Sarah is a literal magician! She color matched me perfectly for my wedding. The tan faded beautifully and didn't transfer onto my white dress. The best spray tan in Northwest Louisiana, hands down."
"I used to be terrified of spray tans looking orange. Sarah changed my life. Her studio is so welcoming, and my color looks incredibly natural. I now go to her before every vacation!"
Not All Tans Are Created Equal
She did not change anything. She just stopped second-guessing the mirror. Color develops from your actual skin chemistry, not from a shade assigned to your general category. Custom formula matched to your undertone, your biology, the way your skin develops DHA. The result reads as yours because it came from you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about getting your custom spray tan in Bossier City.
1. Will my tan look orange?
Only if it’s done wrong, and that’s not happening here. The color comes from DHA reacting with your skin’s amino acids (the same chemistry as browning toast), not dye. I control the tone based on your actual undertones. So as long as you follow the prep instructions, your tan develops even and natural.
2. How long does a spray tan last?
Most people get 5 to 10 days out of their tan depending on their skin type and how they treat it after. I have some clients that their Tan last three weeks. However, this is not typical. DHA only colors the top layer of dead skin cells, so as your skin naturally sheds, the tan goes with it. Keep yourself moisturized every day and don’t scrub your skin like you’re cleaning a kitchen floor.
3. How does spray tanning work?
The solution contains DHA, which reacts with proteins in your outer skin layer and creates brown pigment. It’s just a surface reaction. It’s not soaking into your bloodstream or anything crazy. Let it develop the full time and rinse when I tell you to for the best results.
4. Are spray tans safe?
Topical DHA is considered safe when it’s applied to your skin the right way. I use professional solutions and control exactly how much you’re exposed to during the spray. Just avoid inhaling the mist and use the nose plugs if I hand them to you.
5. How long does a spray tan appointment take?
The actual spray application takes about 10 minutes, but plan for 15 to 20 minutes total from door to door. I move fast, but I’m not rushing your color. Show up on time and prepped so I stay on schedule and you’re out of here.
6. Do spray tans look natural?
Absolutely, as long as the color is matched correctly and applied evenly. I customize your shade based on your actual skin tone so you look like yourself, just with better lighting and confidence. And please don’t go rogue with drugstore self-tanner right before your appointment.
7. Will a spray tan protect me from the sun?
Nope. Not at all. A spray tan does not provide real SPF protection. You still need sunscreen every single time you’re outside. Period.
8. How often can I get a spray tan?
About every 7 to 10 days works best for most people. That gives your skin time to naturally shed so the next tan goes on smooth and even. Don’t stack new color on top of old patchy skin because that’s how you end up looking blotchy.
9. Do you spray tan pregnant women?
Yes, I do, but I always say check with your doctor first just to be safe. DHA sits on the outer skin layer and isn’t absorbed deeply, but I still take extra precautions to keep you comfortable. I can keep you well ventilated and relaxed the whole time.
10. Can men get spray tans?
Absolutely. No question. Skin is skin and DHA works the same way on everyone. I keep it natural looking and not “bodybuilder stage orange,” unless that’s what someone’s actually going for. Men must have their genitalia covered at all times during the service. Spray tans are not FDA approved on mucous membranes. Boxers, briefs, speedo, swim trunks, etc. must be worn.
11. What should I do before my spray tan?
Exfoliate and remove all lotions, oils, deodorant, and makeup. Clean skin lets DHA react evenly with your skin proteins. Come in dry and completely product-free.
12. When should I shave or wax before my spray tan?
Shave 12 to 24 hours before your appointment. Wax 24 to 48 hours before. This gives your pores time to close so you don’t end up with little dots all over. Do not shave right before you walk in the door.
13. Can I shower right before my spray tan?
Yes, you can, but skip soap with oils and don’t apply anything after. Your skin should be clean but completely bare of products. Dry off fully before you come in.
14. What should I wear to my spray tan appointment?
Loose, dark clothing with no tight waistbands or bras if possible. Tight clothes rub the solution before it develops and mess things up. Think comfy and low maintenance.
15. What should I wear during my spray tan session?
Whatever you’re comfortable with. I have disposable underwear available, you can wear your own, or wear nothing. I’ve seen it all and promise I don’t judge. Just know tan lines will match whatever you have on.
16. When should I get my spray tan before a wedding or event?
1 to 2 days before is the sweet spot. That gives the DHA time to fully develop and settle into its final color. Don’t wait until the night before because that’s cutting it too close.
17. Can I work out before my spray tan?
Yes, but shower and cool down completely before your appointment. Sweat can block the DHA reaction or mess with how it develops. Show up clean and dry.
18. When can I shower after my spray tan?
Usually 8 to 12 hours unless I tell you otherwise because you’re doing a rapid tan. That’s how long the DHA needs to react with your skin proteins. Set a timer and don’t guess on this one.
19. What happens during my first rinse?
You’ll see the cosmetic bronzer wash off and it’s going to look like a lot of brown water. That instant color is just a guide. Your actual tan is still developing underneath from the DHA reaction. Use lukewarm water only and skip soap for now.
20. Can I work out after my spray tan?
Wait until after your first rinse. Sweat can streak the tan or stop it from developing evenly. Just take a rest day. Your body will forgive you.
21. Can I shave after my spray tan?
Yes, but wait at least 24 hours and use a fresh, gentle razor. Shaving exfoliates the skin, which removes your tan faster. Be gentle and moisturize right after.
22. Can I swim or use a hot tub with a spray tan?
Not before your first rinse, and keep it limited after that. Chlorine and long water exposure break down the tan faster. Rinse off immediately after swimming and moisturize right away.
23. What products should I use after my spray tan?
Use gentle, sulfate-free body wash and a good moisturizer. Hydrated skin holds onto that DHA color longer. Think simple and boring in the best way possible.
24. What products should I avoid after my spray tan?
Avoid exfoliants, retinol, acids, and anything labeled “renewing” or “brightening.” Those speed up skin turnover and fade your tan faster. If it sounds intense or like it’s doing something aggressive, skip it.
25. How do I make my tan last longer?
Moisturize daily and avoid long hot showers. The slower your skin sheds, the longer your tan sticks around. Pat yourself dry instead of rubbing like you’re sanding wood.
26. Why is my tan fading unevenly?
Because your skin sheds unevenly, which is just normal human biology. Dry areas like elbows, knees, and hands lose color faster than the rest. Keep those spots extra moisturized.
27. My tan looks streaky. What happened?
Usually it’s from prep issues, sweating, or something on your skin blocking the DHA from reacting correctly. The reaction needs a clean, even surface to work properly. Follow prep exactly next time because it matters more than people think.
28. Why does my tan look darker in some areas?
Thicker or drier skin grabs more DHA, so it develops darker. Think elbows, knees, ankles, and hands. Moisturize those areas ahead of time so they don’t overdevelop into dark spots.
29. Can I fix a spray tan that’s too dark?
Yes. Gently exfoliate and take a warm bath to speed up skin turnover. You’re removing the top layer where the DHA reaction happened. Don’t panic. It’s temporary and it will fade.
30. Will the bronzer stain my clothes or sheets?
The cosmetic bronzer can transfer onto clothing and sheets, especially before your first rinse. But all my solutions are water-based, so the bronzer washes right out after one wash cycle. They will not permanently stain.
